Author Kevin Vincent speaks with fans who came to hear him on Saturday at the Timmins Public Library. Vincent’s latest book “City of Thieves,” documents the Timmins’ underworld of gold theft, much of which took place underground when the ore grade was much higher than it is today. Miners would stumble across a piece of gold, seal it in a sandwich bag, hide it in a nook or cranny and go about getting paid later in the day, Vincent recounted. NICOLE STOFFMAN/THE DAILY PRESS
